How to choose healthy sunglasses?

How to choose healthy sunglasses? The sunglasses are not just a fashion accessory. They must be really high quality glasses that actually protect your eyes from ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Otherwise, the pupil, “deceived” by the glasses, not shrinking from the light and the eye receives an additional dose of radiation, which can gradually lead to retinal burns or even blindness. Best forget about cheap (Chinese) imitations! Choose between glass and plastic lenses with varying degrees of shading and color of glass. A choice of frame depends on the shape of your face. If you do not feel prepared to make the choice yourself, consult an ophthalmologist or consultant in the shop recommended and offers the following criteria to comply with the choice of sunglasses. Glass or plastic? Glass lenses provide guaranteed protection from ultraviolet radiation and does not scratch (of course if you do not try and rub them with another example, glass or metal). Plastic is lighter and thinner, but modern coatings also allow them to be very resistant to scratches. However, let’s not cajole ourselves – even the plastic and the quality needs careful handling. Degree of dimming Quality sunglasses are necessarily accompanied by a label on which is specified percentage of UVA and UVB and broadcast wavelengths blocked by sunglasses. The lights are measured in nanometers, and provide 100% protection glasses marked 400 Nm. If the figure is less, then let the glasses of the ultraviolet radiation. There are 5 degrees of eclipse glasses – from very light – permeable 80-100% of light to protect eyes from ultraviolet radiation only in cloudy weather, until quite dark, who missed only 3-8% of the light. For urban conditions are most suitable glasses that let in light from 18 to 43% for long and the sun – not more than 18%, but as a mountain resort in winter you need a very dark glasses, which are often mirrored and really serious protection. Dark glasses with very small bandwidth are not suitable for driving. You can buy so-called. “Chameleons” – glasses, which change depending on the brightness of light. They need not be removed even in a dark room, because it becomes totally transparent. The color of the glass Orange and red colors, which are quite fashionable, are too violent for the eyes and found that even affect the psyche. Yellow is too bright for sunlight and the blue is well tolerated by very few people. The most appropriate and safe to say gray, green and brown colored glass – they best absorb radiation and even soothe the eyes. Keep in mind that the color of the glass must be even, since otherwise the eyes get tired. The amount The general rule is that the glasses should be larger. But the glasses are the right choice to make its owner look like a skier. Framework should be broad and to hide your eyes from both sides. Unfortunately, in terms of aesthetics, huge glasses do not go at all. And many prefer to wear glasses with a thin frame. It should however be remembered that small glasses, which are not completely closed eye glasses are bad. Of these, there is little benefit – if the light into the eye, all protections are irrelevant. The Frame There are no rules and any recommendations would be subjective. Just take your time and try as many frames. It all depends on your taste, the money you can spend and of course on your individual circumstances. Everything is strictly individual: some have allergies to metals, other long lashes rely too flat glasses. If you frequently suffer from headaches, you can make glasses with leather side frames.

How to prevent ourselves from cramps in the water?

Nobody is immune from cramps in the water. If this happens while you’re in the pool, just to get to the soul and warm. But if we are at sea or river. The muscle cramps occur for many reasons: involuntary muscle contractions, accompanied by sharp pain, shortness of potassium or calcium in the body, abnormal metabolic processes, osteochondrosis of the spine when it disrupts nerve circulation and blood flow to muscles, etc. To prevent the occurrence of spasm must learn their cause. For this purpose we must turn to a therapist who will guide us to traumatologist, orthopedist or endocrinologist. Often causes spasms are simple – plain dump, etc. factor of the attached reflex (when every man felt a muscle spasm began to be afraid of it). The cold water and temperature changes are triggering factors for the occurrence of spasms and therefore people prone to this phenomenon should avoid cold waters and swim deep. Under the influence of alcohol spasms can occur in warmer water. Even in warm water, not exceeding the temperature you lose body heat much faster than air. Before each do a short warm bath, a few contractions and straightening the legs, lightweight self-massage of the calves, ankles and waist. The aim is to warm the muscles, ie less power to extend them to blood vessels. If, however, appear spasm, help the sharp prick with something sharp – safety pin, pin, or if none, sharp push with your finger (this is done several times) at the site of pain. The danger in bathing is not caused by spasm itself, but by fear and confusion caused by the sudden pain in the arm, leg or back. The main thing is to not panic and try to get to shore.

An Introduction To Natural Skin Care

Research indicates that self-confident people perform well at work and have secure relationships. Great looking skin makes one feel good and adds to self-confidence. While some people are born with flawless skin, others have to work hard to achieve it. Even individuals blessed with a lovely complexion need to take care of their skin regularly.

Natural skin care involves the application of naturally occurring materials to cleanse, refresh, and nourish skin. These materials are readily available, inexpensive, and harmless unless one is allergic to any of them.

Different skin types require different skin care products and beauty regimens. People with normal skin can use a number of natural aids to enhance their looks. A mask made of fresh apple juice and honey can be applied on the face and neck and rinsed off after 20 minutes. A mix of orange-peel powder, oatmeal, and milk can also be used effectively.

Oily skin tends to be problematic, especially during adolescence. A mask of raw egg whites and freshly squeezed lemon juice can help to reduce the oiliness. This mask should be washed off with warm water. A mask made with grated cucumber and rosewater can also work magic on oily skin.

Dry skin tends to get drier with age and to look rough. A concoction of mashed ripe banana, honey, and olive oil can be applied to refresh and nourish dry, tired-looking skin. Ripe strawberries, mashed and mixed with fresh cream can also be used.

Two masks should ideally be applied on combination skin, simultaneously. One mask should take care of the T-zone and the other, the rest of the face and the neck. Alternatively, one can add olive or almond oil to the same mask to take care of the drier areas. A mask made of oatmeal and yogurt can be applied to the T-zone. Honey can be added to this mask, for the drier zone.

To sum up, natural skin care can improve the texture of all skin types, at a minimum cost. However, this care has to be supplemented with a nutritious, low-fat diet, regular exercise, and plentiful sleep to obtain glowing skin that earns praise.

Acne Cures Using Natural Remedies

When you develop acne, it can have a major change in your strong and active personality. It has the power to make you feel helpless, insecure, and bashful. To get a smooth and clear face, you need a new attitude about your health. Your acne and treatment that you use for it should start with improving your health.

Hormones that are released by the various organs are controlled by your overall health. The releases of excess hormones, which cause acne, is a result of your health. If you do not have a healthy body, then you will have an imbalance in your hormones. This imbalance may not cause acne, but in many individuals it does.

Most doctors don't think diet causes acne. If the doctors were right about food, then they would easily be able to help you clear your acne with their drugs. Drugs can give you temporary relief, is they work at all, but as you use them. They can also give you some unpleasant side effects.

If you been struggling to get rid of pimples, then its time to get serious about your acne and treatment. Take curing your acne into your own hands. What you have to do is to realize that acne is caused by the food you eat. The food you eat determines how your body works. Put good food into your body and gain good health and you will have a clean face.

So, what kind of diet will help to keep you acne free? It will be the best diet that will give you the best health. The better your health the less acne and toxins your body will have. Blemishes on your face represent excess toxins that are trying to get out of your body. The normal channels your body uses to get rid of toxins have been over worked, so the body uses the skin to eliminate them.

To make your diet more effective, there are some lifestyle changes you can make that will accelerate your health. First, you can start being more active by not watching so much TV. The movement of your body helps to route toxins out of your body, so do some exercise. If you smoke or work where there is a lot of air pollution, you need to consider making changes. Pollution will definitely shorten your life and create blemishes on your skin during your life time.

Here is a good diet to help you get back your health. There are certain foods that you need to stop eating for acne and treatment. Since it may be difficult to change your eating habits, it is best to replace a "poor food" with a "better food." And, you need to change your eating habit gradually.

* All products made from white flour have little nutritional value and do nothing to keep your healthy. In fact, white flour can cause constipation, making your colon toxic which can lead to acne. Back off on white flour slowly and replace it with products that have multi-grains.

* One way to know if the food you eat is good is to know that good food is not found in packages. Packaged food has all kinds of chemical additives that literally poison your body. They disrupt you organ functions creating hormonal imbalances that lead to acne. Most food that is good for you is not found in the grocery store it is found at the farmers market.

* Milk is also one of the foods that are over rated and commercials have created an atmosphere that if you don't drink milk you will lack calcium. You don't need milk to get all the calcium your body needs. Milk has a lot of fat, causes allergies, and mucus. Milk compromises your health and can cause you to break out with pimples and skin infections and other blemishes.

* Eat more fruits in the morning to detoxify your body. Eat more raw vegetables for lunch and dinner. Try to avoid eating cooked vegetables. These vegetables lose up to 50 percent of their nutritional value when cooked. It is best to steam your vegetables and leave them a little hard by cooking only 3-4 minutes with very little water.

There are many different things you need to do to change your diet. Just change one thing every week or every two weeks. Over a year, you will see a change in your health and your acne and treatment of changing your diet will clear up your blemishes.

A Guide To Dry Skin Care

Dry skin is characterized by dull and rough appearance. Some individuals are born with dry skin, while others develop it over time, due to a host of factors. Dry skin tends to age faster as it lacks the necessary oil and moisture to keep skin soft and supple.

Individuals may develop dry skin due overexposure to sunlight, harsh climatic conditions like severe cold or heat, or artificial room heating or cooling. An improper skin care regimen, especially the overuse of soap or face wash, or no skin care at all can also lead to dull skin.

For people with dry skin, facial skin care should involve the basic skin care regimen recommended for all skin typesthat is, cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. In addition, an oil massage for the face and the body, using either olive or almond oil is recommended before bathing. Warm water should be used for bathing. A suitable moisturizer and a body lotion should be applied after bathing. Sunscreen must not be forgotten while going out during the day.

Honey is a good moisturizer, and those who wish to follow the natural path to glowing skin can apply it regularly over the face and the neck and wash it off after ten minutes. A face mask made of raw egg, honey, and rosewater is beneficial to dry skin. Mashed, ripe banana can also be used as a rejuvenating face mask. Mashed, ripe strawberries mixed with fresh cream provide a similar effect.

Dry skin also needs some extra care, such as the application of an outer eye cream and night cream. Both provide essential oil to dry skin and prevent signs of premature aging like wrinkles and fine lines.

To conclude, apart from external care, a wholesome diet that includes cereals, nuts, vegetables, and fruits can prevent premature aging of dry skin. Intake of garlic, carrots, eggs, and milk is especially recommended. Daily intake of at least eight glasses of water, and adequate sleep are also vital aspects of skin care.

Fried food, soft drinks, excessive tea and coffee, and smoking and alcohol are harmful for skin. Therefore, these should be avoided.

Schizotypal Personality Disorder

Information about Schizotypal Personality Disorder

Schizotypal personality disorderis part of a group of diseases called eccentric personality disorders. They may exhibit strange behavior, dress in a particular way, and their thinking is often different from a normal person.  It is extremely difficult for them to build relationships with others. Others describe them as strange and peculiar, and often impossible to make any meaningful conversation with them.

Schizotypal Personality Disorder Symtoms

The schizotypal symptoms include:
  • They dress, speak and act in ways that are different from normal people.
  • They are often suspicious and paranoid.
  • Social situations are very difficult for them due to the fact that you feel uncomfortable with others and distrust between them.
  • It is not difficult to realize that they have very few friends and in any event, intimate situations, it is very uncomfortable.
  • They are responsible for not understanding reality, or the noise of error for the vote.
  • Its strange beliefs, can be extended to consider himself as magical and psychic sometimes. While it can be very superstitious.
  • They tend to live in their own fantasy world, what we might call daydreaming. For them, of course, can seem very real.
  • Relationships with others is difficult for them, at best, but it is natural to encounter very stiff and uncomfortable.
All this is fine, but what causes the disease? The doctors say that genetics may play a role. If the subject is relative (s) suffering from schizophrenia, then, are more likely to develop schizotypal personality disorder. In other words, we’re not going to rodeos here. Nobody has a clue!
The disease usually begins in adolescence. The child may be a poor performance in school and growing interest in solitary activities. Another worrying problem is that the child may also seem out of step with their peers, and thus suffer teasing and bullying. Parents should be especially vigilant if they realize their behavior in isolation and misery.
Schizotypal personality disorder can easily be confused with schizophrenia. While the first condition can cause the victim to experience brief episodes of psychosis, and delusions and hallucinations, they are not as severe or as frequently as the person with schizophrenia.

Serious skin care

Serious skin care’ is about maintaining a healthy and glowing skin all through your life. As you grow older, your body’s natural skin care mechanisms become weaker. So, ‘serious skin care’ is about responding to the changing needs of your skin. Thus, ‘serious skin care’ is about constantly evaluating, analysing and changing your skin care routines. Your skin care routine should change based on the environmental conditions, your age and changes in your skin type.
‘Serious skin care’ is also about awareness. With the technological advancements and research, more and more facts are being brought to light everyday. Also, the composition and nature of skin care products seems to be changing with time. So trying out the new products is also a part of serious skin care. However, ‘serious skin care’ advises using a new product over a small patch of skin (not facial skin) first, just to see how your skin reacts to it.
‘Serious skin care’ also means knowing how to use your skin care products. Good practices include things like applying the moisturizers while the skin is damp, using upward strokes for better penetration of skin care products, removing the make up before going to bed, cleansing before moisturising or applying make up, using the correct amount of skin care products, etc. Thus, increasing the effectiveness of your skin care products is another focus area of serious skin care.
Some precautions, like avoiding contact with detergents, are also part of serious skin care. ‘Serious skin care’ means being gentle with your skin. Things like over-exfoliation, use of low quality products, and application of strong-chemical based products, are all harmful to your skin. Some people have a wrong notion about serious skin care. For them serious skin care is – using large quantities of products as often as possible. However, this really isn’t serious skin care (and that’s why awareness is so important).
‘Serious skin care’ is also about visiting your dermatologist for treatment of skin disorders. Ignoring the skin disorders can be fatal for your skin and might lead to permanent damage. So, if the things don’t improve with over the counter medication, you should immediately visit a dermatologist. Self-surgery e.g. squeezing of acne/pimples is a big no (it can lead to permanent damage of your skin).
So, seriously serious skin care is more about precautions and preventive measures (than treatment). Serious skin care is about being proactive as well as reactive. In fact, we can say that ‘serious skin care’ is about being proactive about the needs of your skin so that the need for being reactive is reduced to a minimum.

Herbal skin care

Skin care is not a topic of recent times; it has been in practice since ancient times, when herbal skin care was probably the only way to take care of skin. However, skin care has transformed in a big way. Herbal skin care routines have been replaced by synthetic/chemical-based skin care routines. The herbal skin care recipes which once used to be common place are not so popular today (and even unknown to a large population). This transformation from herbal skin care to synthetic, can probably be attributed to two things – our laziness (or just the fast pace of lives) and the commercialisation of skin care. Even herbal skin care products have been commercialised. These commercial herbal skin care products have to be mixed with preservatives in order to increase their shelf-life, hence making them less effective than the fresh ones made at home. However, it seems that things are changing fast and more people are now opting for natural and herbal skin care routines. But still, none want to make them at home and hence the commercial market of herbal skin care products is on the rise.
So what are these herbs or herbal skin care mechanisms?
Aloe vera, which is an extract from Aloe plant, is one of the best examples of herbal skin care product. Freshly extracted aloe vera is a natural hydrant that helps in soothing skin. It also helps in healing cuts and treating sun burns.
A number of herbs are known to possess cleansing properties. Dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary herbs, are a few examples of such cleansers. Their herbal skin care properties get invoked when they are combined with other herbs like tea.
Antiseptics are another important part of Herbal skin care. Lavender, marigold, thyme and fennel are good examples of herbs that are known to possess antiseptic properties. Lavender water and rose water also form good toners.
Tea plays an important part in herbal skin care. Tea extracts are used for treatment of skin that has been damaged by UV radiation.
Oils prepared from herbal extracts present another means of herbal skin care. Tea tree oil, Lavender oil, borage oil and primrose oil are some popular oils used in herbal skin care. Some fruit oils (e.g. extracts from fruits like banana, apple and melon) find use in shower gels (as a hydrating mix)
Homeopathic treatments and aromatherapies also come under the umbrella of herbal skin care remedies.
Herbal skin care is good not only for the routine nourishing of skin but also for treatment of skin disorders like eczema and psorasis. Most herbal skin care products don’t have any side effects (the most important reason for preferring them over synthetic products) Moreover, herbal skin care products can be easily made at home, hence making them even more attractive. So, herbal skin care is the way to go. However, this does not mean that you totally discard the synthetic products. Some people go to the extent of debating with their dermatologist, if he/she suggests a synthetic product. You should accept the fact that some skin orders might need usage of clinically proven non-herbal skin care products.

Weight Loss Exercise

A lot of us live our lives like penned animals. Built to move, too often we put ourselves in a cage. We have bodies designed for racing across the savannas, but we live a lifestyle designed for migrating from the bed to the breakfast table; to the car seat; to the office chair; to the restaurant booth; to the living room couch and back to the bed.

It was not always this way. Not long ago in the United States, a man who worked on a farm did the equivalent of 15 miles of jogging every day; and his wife did the equivalent of 7 miles of jogging.

Today, our daily obligations of work and home keep us tied to our chairs, and if we want exercise, we have to seek it out.

In fact, health experts insist that obesity problem is probably caused at least as much by lack of physical activity as by eating too much. Hence, it is important that people need to move around.

However, that does not mean that a lap or two around the old high school track will offset a daily dose of donuts. Exercise alone is not very efficient, experts say. They contend that if you just exercise and do not change your diet, you may be able to prevent weight gain or even lose a few pounds for a while.

Nevertheless, it is not something that you are likely to sustain unless exercise is part of an overall program. The more regularly you exercise, the easier it is to maintain your weight. Here is what to do every day to make sure that you get the exercise you need.

1. Get quality sleep.

Make sure that you get adequate sleep. Good sleep habits are conducive to exercise, experts point out. If you feel worn out during the day, you are less likely to get much physical activity during the day.

In addition, there is evidence that people who are tired tend to eat more, using food as a substance for the rest they need.

2. Walk the walk.

It is probably the easiest exercise program of all. In fact, it may be all you ever have to do, according to some professional advices of some health experts.

Gradually build up to at least 30 minutes of brisk walking five times a week. Brisk walks themselves have health and psychological benefits that are well worth the while.

3. Walk the treadmill.

When the weather is bad, you might not feel like going outdoors. But if you have a treadmill in the television room, you can catch up on your favorite shows while you are doing your daily good turn for your weight-maintenance plan.

Most of us watch television anyway, and indoor exercise equipment enables anyone to turn a sedentary activity into a healthy walk.

Healthy Diet - A Guide to Weight Loss

Here are some weight loss diet tips that can be followed anywhere, everyday:

1. Make a delicious low fat mayonnaise by combining one teaspoon of Dijon mustard or satay sauce with a low fat yogurt.
2. Do not skip meals. Skipping meals slicks the body into slowing down the metabolism, attempting to conserve calories during a period where limited fats and fuel are available. Remember that eating increases the metabolism.
3. Stuff vegetables like capsicum and zucchini with flavored fillings or minced chicken, white meat or fish. These are healthy and contain low fat.
4. Take pita bread roll ups or wraps with salad fillings.
5. Eight hours after waking up, our metabolism slows down that is why 30 minutes of exercise before dinner will increase the metabolism for about two to three hours. This produces an increase in burned fat even hours after the work out is over.
6. Add alfalfa or mung beans to salad to get extra iron.
7. Good cooking and healthy eating begins with learning about nutrition and how to prepare healthy recipes.
8. Learn how to make the family favorite recipes and make sure that fats, salt, and sugar are cut out. Substitute non-fat yogurt for cream, stir-fry without oil and use herbs and spices instead of salt to taste.
9. Consult the doctor before beginning an exercise or weight loss program.
10. Slowly eat and chew each bite during meals as this would decrease one's appetite.
11. Complete three small meals and two snacks everyday instead of one or two huge meals.
12. Use chicken stock when stir-frying. This will cut down on hidden fat.
13. Buy non-toasted muesli instead of the toasted ones. A plate of toasted muesli contains more fat than a plate of bacon and eggs.
14. As much as possible do not remove the skins of fruits and vegetables since most of the nutrients are concentrated under the skin.
15. Warm water with just a squeeze of lemon juice before breakfast get the metabolism going for the day, this also help preventing constipation and is excellent for the skin.
16. One of the best sources of vegetable protein is from soya beans or tofu. All legumes provide some protein, so include lentils, lima beans etc into casseroles and soups.
17. Look for a weight loss "buddy," club, or support mates. This will motivate you to stay and enjoy your weight loss program.
18. Though it's hard at first, try not eating 3 hours or more before bedtime.
19. Make pasta a fast food choice - preparing a pasta meal or salad will only take 10-12 minutes.
20. Chilli helps to speed up metabolism - even the milder varieties.
21. Try making omelettes without adding the yolks! A dramatic decrease in fat.
22. Substitute baking soda, baking powder, MSG and soya sauce in cooking.
23. Remove fat by dropping ice cubes into the baking tray. Fat will stick to the ice cubes.
24. Drinking hot water instead of cold water in the morning can increase the speed of your metabolism and burn more calories.
25. Eat before you go food shopping and always prepare a shopping list. Only buy food which relates to your weekly menu plan and don't be tempted to buy goodies.

Make sure that the right discipline is still practiced to promote consistency on the diet plan. This will lead eventually to a healthy life-style and a more fruitful living without the extra fat and extra pounds on the side.

Free Weight Loss programs

The race to fitness is on and a lot of people are getting into the band wagon. Some people do it to achieve a sexy body, some people just do it because they are embarrassed with the body they have now, while others do it simply to remain fit and heatlthy. As such, many fitness programs are out in the internet, in gyms, spas and fitness centers all over. Some are too expensive to afford that one may even lose weight just by trying to work out the money needed to pursue these fitness programs.

One may not have to go to the gym or the spa or any fitness center and spend much just to slim down to obtain that longed for sexy body. There are many books available in the bookstore which offer weight loss programs which are convenient and for free, of course the books are not though. These weight loss programs, or diet plans are gaining immense popularity with so much publicity, testimonials and reviews that one may be confused which exactly to follow. So before choosing which weight loss plan to follow, try reading these summaries about the most popular diet programs out today.

Atkins' New Diet Revolution by Dr. Atkins. This weight loss program encourages high protein diet and a trim down on the carbs. One can feast on vegetables and meat but should fast on bread and pasta. One is also not restricted against fat intake so it is okay to pour in the salad dressing and freely spread on the butter. However, after the diet, one may find himself lacking on fiber and calcium yet high in fat. Intake of grains and fruits are also limited.

Carbohydrate Addict's Diet by Drs. Heller. This diet plan advocates low carbohyrate eating. Approves on eating meats, vegetables and fruits, dairy and grain products. however, warns against taking in too much carb. "Reward" meal can be too high on fats and saturated fats.

Choose to Lose by Dr. Goor. Restrains fat intake. One is given a "fat" budget and he is given the liberty on how to spend it. It does not pressure the individual to watch his carbohydrate intake. Eating meat and poultry as well as low-fat dairy and seafoods is okay. A go signal is also given on eating vegetables, fruits, cereals, bread and pasta. This weight loss plan is fairly healthy, good amounts of fruits and vegetables as well as saturated fats. Watch triglyceride levels though; if high, trim down the carbohydrates and tuck in more of the unsaturated fats.

The DASH Diet. Advocates moderate amounts of fat and protein intake and high on carbs. Primarily designed to lower blood pressure, the diet plan follows the pyramid food guide and encourages high intake of whole wheat grains as well as fruits and vegetables and low-fat dairy. Some dieters think it advocates too much eating to procure significant weight loss.

Eat More, Weigh Less by Dr. Ornish. Primarily vegetarian fare and strictly low-fat. Gives the go signal on the "glow" foods but warns to watch it on non-fat dairy and egg whites. This diet is poor in calcium and retricts consumption of healthy foods like seafoods and lean poultry.

Eat Right for Your Type. Interesting because it is based on the person's blood type. recommends plenty of mest for people with the blood type O. Diet plans for some blood types are nutritionally imbalanced and too low in calories. And for the record, there is even no proof that blood type affects dietary needs.

The Pritkin Principle. Focused on trimming the calorie density in eating by suggesting watery foods that make one feel full. Eating vegetables, fruits, oatmeal, pasta, soups, salads and low-fat dairy is okay. Although limits protein sources to lean meat, pseafood and poultry. Although it is healthy by providing low amounts of saturated fats and rich amounts of vegetables and fruits, it is also low on calcium and limits lean protein sources.

Volumetrics. For low-density calorie eating. Recommends the same foodstuff as Pritkin but restricts fatty or dry foods like popcorn, pretzels and crackers. This plan is reasonably healthy given the high amounts of fruits and vegetables as well as being low in calorie density and saturated fats.

The Zone. Moderately low on the carbs yet moderately high on the proteins. Encourages low-fat protein foods like fish and chicken plus veggies, fruits and grains. It is also healthy but lacking in grains and calcium.

Weight Watchers. High carbohydrates, moderate on fats and proteins. A very healthy diet plan and very flexible too. it allows the dieter to plan his own meal rather than give him a set to follow

Losing Weight Rapidly

Wanting a slimmer and sexier body is no lofty ambition. Many people have succeeded in sculpting their physiques to make them look healthy and desirable. However, this end is not attained in just a snap or skipping one night's dinner. For some people though, patience is not a virtue. They seem not to be able to afford so much attention, time and money to get the body they have always wanted. As a result, these people result to rapid weight loss practices and programs which may not be as effective as these people are led to believe they are.

Fast-track diets are one of these rapid weight loss practices which may not be very inviting as they seem according to research. Fast-track diet programs, as scientific research shows, are only good while they last. Rapid weight loss often results ironically, to rapid weight gain. people who undergo low carbohydrate or low calorie diets normally revert back to old eating habits simply because human beings can not actually live on with this type of diet scheme for the rest of their lives.

Now there is also scientific research showing that rapid weight loss does not imply an individual is losing unwanted excess fat; it is commonly water that is lost with following rapid weight loss practices. This could cause certain alarm but actually, water lost is regained very quickly. So there is actually zero net weight lost after all. So one should not be foolish enough to be so gullible with the advertising of certain diet pills out there in the market; especially those which claim to aid lose a whopping amount of fat in a short time. They will only dehydrate the body. And just so it is clear, the body can only lose two pounds of fat per week, one could be exceptionally lucky if he can lose three, but normally, it's just two.

Another rapid weight loss product out in the market is the slimming soap. Claiming that these soaps are made from a unique concoction of rare chinese herbs and seaweed, they assert to help people using them to shed off body fats by emulsifying them upon application while taking a bath. Some are even specialized like those which promise to give the user "beautiful thighs". The ingredients may prove to improve the quality of the skin but no research has ever come up yet which aids to prove the efficacy of these ingredients in emulsifying excess body fats.

One more rapid weight loss product out there in the market promises to suppress hunger and at the same time help increase the body's metabolic rate. It also claims to be able to accelerate the healing process and reduce certain body pains, all these plus its being a very chic fashion accent. Well they are actually called magnetic weight loss earrings.

The secret of this set of earrings is in the magnet, so it says. Wearing them near the ears balances the magnetism in the body therefore one will experience all the above mentioned effects. Though press releases say that there are actually "studies" to back these assertions up, nothing yet is found in medical journals. Though buying a set may not kill a person, it's probably not a wise investment. One might as well wear a horse shoe earring for a more exquisite fashion statement.

Bottom line is "no pain, no gain". If one wants a beautiful body, one must sweat it out. And as for those rapid weight loss products coming out on the market, if they are too good to be true, they probably are not

Why Losing Weight is Good

There is a great benefit acquired from losing weight. Though losing weight is not easy, the long term effects brought by it would probably be of help to anyone considering to shed those unwanted and unhealthy pounds.

The following are a few of the remarkable advantages from losing those excess weight.

Weight loss prevents high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke

That is a three in one benefit from losing weight. It is a fact that heart disease and stroke are one of the primary reasons for disability and death in both men and women in the US. People who are overweight have a higher risk to have high levels of cholesterol in their blood stream as well as triglycerides (also known as blood fat).

Angina, one type of heart disease, could cause chest pains as well as a decrease in the oxygen pumped to the heart.

Sudden death also occurs from heart disease and stroke, and usually this strikes with very little warning, signs and symptoms.

It is a fact that by decreasing your weight by a mere five to ten percent, this could positively decrease the chances of you having or developing heart disease or a stroke. Plus, how your heart functions would also improve as well as your blood pressure, cholesterol and triglyceride count will decrease.

Weight loss prevents type 2 diabetes

Diabetes puts in jeopardy one’s life as well as how one leads his or her life because of the complications that result from having it. Both types of diabetes, type one and type two are linked with being overweight. To those who already have diabetes, regular exercise and losing weight could help in controlling your blood sugar levels as well as the medication you may be currently taking. Increase your physical activity. You could simply walk, jog or dance. It helps get those blood streams moving as well as lose those unnecessary pounds.

Weight loss helps reduce your risk for cancer

Being overweight is linked with a number of kinds of cancer. Specially for women, the common types of cancer that is associated with being overweight include cancer of the uterus, gallbladder, ovary, breast, and colon. This is not meant to scare you, this is only to keep you informed. Men are at risk too from developing cancer if they are overweight. These include cancer of the colon, prostate and rectum. Extra weight, a diet high in fat and cholesterol should as much as possible be avoided.

Weight loss reduces sleep apnea

Or it could eliminate it all together. Sleep apnea is a condition wherein one could temporarily stop breathing for a brief period and then would continue to snore heavily. Sleep apnea could cause drowsiness or sleepiness during the day and – because of being overweight – could result in heart failure. Shedding those excess pounds could help in eliminating this problem.

Weight loss reduces the pain of osteoarthritis

When one weighs heavily, the joints of his or her knees, hips and lower back would have to exert double – if not triple – effort to carry him or her through out his / her waking, walking and moving life. This could cause tension and stress on these joints. Weight loss decreases the load these joints carry thus decreasing – if not eliminating – the pain of one who has osteoarthritis.
